recently | vol. 1 - a semester in review

The weekend before school started, my family and I went camping at Grandfather Mountain.

(da mountain)

Two days after we got back, then began my college career.

(me and my sister Emma on my first day of college)

It started off with sunny weather, lots of new people, and a different outlook on life.

(my college campus)

I wasn't in school because I had to be, I was in college because I had a crazy desire to learn.

(I became very familiar with this library)

I sat through days and days of classes.
I started attending the college ministry at my church.  (VFC is awesome!)

(One of the messages convicted me to write on myself... don't judge)

I ate way to much Nutella and ice cream... they became my study buddies.

I basked in the beauty of God's creation every spare minute I had.

(I hung upside down to get this picture. Looking pretty ridiculous was I.)

(purty purty rainbow)

I ate Chinese food.  My fortune cookie was awesome.

Fall break + VFC college students + mud fight = fun times

(a filthy group of college kids having the time of their lives)

I paid attention to how I looked going to school for the first month.  After that I wore sweatpants.

(A girl never grows out of braids)

I ran my first 5K race since I was 8.  Color Me Rad, baby.

(my running pals and I post-race)

Autumn colors made my life so happy... especially when they made campus pretty

(my walk to and from my car every day)

I learned to play with art.  Art is for self-expression.

(experiment with watercolor)

The weather started turning chilly, my face got numb and we had our first frost.

I got the flu twice... both within 1 month before finals.  Talk about stressful.

(I watched a lot of Andy Griffith)

Finals came with lots and lots of stuff to do.

(only part of my long list)

(part of my final art project)

I got my grades, and had a cupcake celebration

Christmastime is here!

(wrapping presents... I love to wrap presents!!!!)

I finished my first semester of college.

And then I went to Snowshoe, West Virginia for a ski/snowboarding trip.
20 people + 3 days + skis and snowboards + hot tubs + lots of carbs + tons of snow = fantastic memories.

Yep, it was a good semester.
